ANAAL NATHRAKH: New Dark Ages
Intense. There are a number of adjectives one could use to describe Britain’s Anaal Nathrakh, but this one just seems to fit like an iron glove. In fact, there’s been plenty of ink spilt about this duo of vocalist Dave Hunt (V.I.T.R.I.O.L.) and instrumentalist/drum programmer/songwriter Irrumator, also known by the human name of Mick Kenney.
Movie Review: SPLIT SECOND (1992)
The MVD Blu-ray doesn’t miss ANY opportunities when it comes to the extras, however, as this disc is completely packed to the gills. For starters, there’s a fun audio commentary from film historian Mike Leeder and filmmaker Arne Venema that is pretty much non-stop from the jump, with both men dropping factoids and having great fun watching the film along the way.
GREEN CARNATION: Blessings and Rebirth
Thankfully, nothing lasts forever (especially band breakups), and here we are with the much anticipated Green Carnation reunion and another fantastic release to their credit, as well. Leaves of Yesteryear falls in the familiar, warm, and welcoming territory of the band’s melodic and melancholic brand of metal. We got in touch with frontman Kjetil Nordhus to discuss the band’s status in 2020 and beyond, with Leaves of Yesteryear signifying a rebirth and new beginning for one of metal’s most unique, original acts.

PARADISE LOST: Darker Than Black
“We’ve never pandered to what people want, trends, or fashion. We write songs with the same principle we had before we even had any fans—we please ourselves first. If we like something, then there’s a possibility other like-minded people will.” These are the words Paradise Lost frontman Nick Holmes…
TESTAMENT: Better Headspace
It’s a great time to be a Testament fan. The band is arguably creating some of the most original and dynamic music of its career, taking aim at their classic material from the 1980s with a fresh ear and the willingness to go all in with modern technology. It hasn’t been an easy road, however, as break ups, roadblocks, and personal tragedies have all stood in Testament’s way.
