LISTEN TO THE EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE OF CYDERIAN SON’S NEW EP NECROPOLIS ONLY ON OUTBURN.COM
New York band Cyderian Son’s sophomore EP Necropolis is set for release on Friday, March 19, 2021.
“This EP was a reflection on some of the things that plague our everyday lives and stunt our growth in the world. Hopefully it serves to bring some peace to a chaotic mind as it did for us. The sounds were meant to reflect the depth and emotionality in each song, with tight and heavy distortions, and atmospheric synths. Growing up loving the sound of the 80s, we also embedded some “retro” in the sound, as it had a major impact on us. Having the opportunity to call back to that was a blast and on this current wave where 80s pop culture elements are being re-explored, we felt it right to show our appreciation as well.”
Influences such as Coheed and Cambria and The Contortionist are rife on the Staten Island outfit’s upcoming EP Necropolis. Cyderian Son’s first new material since their 2016 debut album [R.E:]M.ILY sees the quintet continue to evolve a sound that skilfully navigates the contours of progressive metal and alternative rock, with precision and power, intertwining with plentiful hooks along the way. Integrated into Cyderian Son’s lexicon is a broad cultural influence, with sound and art incorporated from the global stage.
