Genre bending artist Blacklite District (real name Kyle Pfeiffer) is set to release his new single “Be Afraid.” Blacklite District describes his musical style as a distinct genre that falls somewhere in the folds of both alternative and hip hop music.
“I’ve been waiting on this one. ‘Be Afraid’ is the first step of me going back to my rock roots—another song written in rehab at the beginning of the year,” says Blacklite District. “There really is such a vibe with this song, especially being in recovery. I used to be convinced I was bulletproof in terms of drugs, relationships, etc., and this song basically brings me back down to reality. I have to tell myself to ‘Be Afraid,’ and that’s the scariest thing of all.”
Thematically with his music Blacklite District hopes to continue to be a spark of hope in the lives of those with low spirits who may be dealing with some tough times. Drawing from his own personal life experiences Blacklite District wants to bring attention to the importance of family and friends in life when you’re going through personal issues.
