RECORD FOR ALL SEASONS: Only two albums deep and Pvris has already proven its future pathway to tackle any genre thrown the band’s way on All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell. The members of Pvris are the definition of artists, with a great understanding of what can appeal both to the band’s loyal fan base and mainstream demands. The Massachusetts trio has risen to notoriety by grinding it out on the stages of Warped Tour and partnering with other affiliated acts, but All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell feels strategic to an even bigger plan. Dripping in dramatics and 80s flair, Pvris’ sophomore effort sounds more like a hipster darling than material you would normally hear out of Rise Records. “Walk Alone” wanders between aggressive and angelic, “What’s Wrong” could have been lifted from Lorde’s latest, and “Same Soul” haunts and pleads desperation in the vein of early Blaqk Audio. All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell is an enigma, an unexplainable force capable of rocking emotion or bouncing alongside current radio giants. The album highlights shine through in “Heaven” and “Anyone Else,” both hits in the making. Emotionally heavy but joyous in its accessibility, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell is a pristine triumph. ~ Jameson Ketchum
