CREATING A SAFER SCENE: Sexual Abuse and Harassment in Music
Sexual harassment, defined as unwanted sexual favors and advances, is prevalent in the music scene, with unwelcomed physical and verbal contact also included. Unfortunately, there’s a long history of sexual abuse, misconduct, and exploitation of minors in the music scene. This predatory behavior weaved into the music industry and culture, telling the new generation of musicians that it’s acceptable to harass and abuse fans.
