LISTEN TO THE NEW SINGLE “DRONES” FROM VOID CHAPTER ONLY ON OUTBURN.COM
Void Chapter returns with a slow-burning mournful industrial alt-metal ballad “Drones.” Exploring the world they’ve created, “Drones” tells the story of the day-to-day people trapped in the futuristic dystopian world of The Sprawl.
Featuring an ominous atmosphere emphasized by synthesizers, and slower-paced rhythms “Drones” encapsulates the hopeless atmosphere further with provocative lyrics and a captivating vocal performance by Void Chapter’s own Brian Skeel.
“This track marks the first full-length vocal performance by Void Chapter’s own Brian Skeel,” says Void Chapter. “Who surgically moves in and out of levels of intensity and vocal stylings, as the emotions of the track burn hotter and hotter throughout.”
“Drones” is the next brutal chapter where you find out what happens to your loved ones taken in the night for the collective will of The Sprawl. Amalgamated humans are unable to move their bodies as they wait for the machines to take them to an infirmary, yet they can feel everything going on around them. The song’s bitter end hits the point home with a heavy build-up of guitars that brutally hammer the point home. There is no escape.
“‘Drones’ is the story of The Taken, whose physical body has failed to a point of paralysis during their day-to-day pre-programmed routes set by The Sprawl A.I.,” explains Void Chapter. “Yet the mind is still running at full speed. As elements of their humanity begin to resurface, they experience a sudden rush of fragmented memories and dreams before inevitably powering down forever.
“Drones” is out now from independent multi-genre label FiXT.
