About the song, guitarist Brandon Mendenhall says, “‘Nothing Good Came Easy’ is our anthem that clearly states, the best things in life are some of life’s most challenging. Life and success is not any easy journey, but if you stay focused on your goals and stay on your grind to achieve them, the reward will be that much sweeter.”

“Nothing Good Came Easy” was written by lead guitarist Mike Lira. “‘Nothing Good Came Easy’ was the first real rock ballad I had ever written, and it’s awesome to know people really gravitate to it. The acoustic version has a totally different vibe, but still sticks to the core of the song as a whole. It’s cool to know we can strip it down to the bone and have the song still hold its integrity,” says Lira. “I just hope that people can interpret it in their own way so it gives it a deeper meaning to the listener, but still be a song that can lift anyone and remind them that battles are never won without blood, sweat, or tears… sometimes all three.”

The Mendenhall Experiment was born as Brandon’s own personal aspiration to be in a world-famous band while working within the limitations of Cerebral Palsy, knowing full well that the cards were stacked against finding musicians willing to work with him. Possessing a fierce desire to succeed, Brandon went to visit a friend in the rock ‘n’ roll mecca of Los Angeles and never left, pursuing his dream with relentless tenacity and bulldog determination.
