LISTEN TO THE EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE OF THE NEW SONG “ANDROMEDA” FROM DESIGN FLAW ONLY ON OUTBURN.COM
Post-hardcore quartet Design Flaw have announced their upcoming, debut EP. Beasts of a Future Decay is set for release on April 1st, 2022. The DC natives have dropped a new song, entitled ”Andromeda.”
“‘Andromeda’ is a sort of post-apocalyptic love song. We wrote it in 2020 at the height of the pandemic; like most people, we were stuck at home with our partners or family, desperately trying to make sense of things. Desperately trying to find a balance between hope, fear, and disillusionment. Sometimes, you need to see things through someone else’s eyes when things are bleak. Their love for the world — or their love for you — can be the remedy that makes you whole again. If you are lucky enough to have that connection with someone, hold on to it at all costs.” – Navid Marvi
Beasts of a Future Decay is the debut EP from Washington, DC’s Design Flaw. The record is a heavy, but uniquely accessible collection—a dark and atmospheric arrangement of soaring guitars, layered vocals, driving drums and bass, and otherworldly screams.
The post-hardcore quartet garners inspiration from the genre-bending alternative icons of the 00s and 10s, with Deafheaven, Glassjaw, and Deftones particularly prevalent in the East Coast outfit’s dexterous lexicon. With their hypnotic grooves and imperious, cascading crescendos, Design Flaw’s debut EP nods to the likes of Thrice, Russian Circles and Defeater, offering an innate and intimate amalgam of post-rock, post-hardcore and blackgaze.
Beasts of a Future Decay is a deeply personal reaction from four humans in flux — an artifact of their search for balance between calm and chaos, fantasy and reality, hope and fear.
Beasts of a Future Decay is out April 1st, 2022.
