“The lyrics of “Sanctified” take on themes that are as heavy as the instrumentals that underscore them. Religious trauma, feelings of hopelessness, struggling with the concept of salvation, and all the while keeping the listener grounded in the physical reality of a failed suicide attempt. The breakdowns and choruses had heavy influence from The Used instrumentally and vocally, and the melodic aspects were also inspired by Sleep Token.” – Oli Woods
Channelling some of their hard rock and metalcore heroes of decades past, the young four-piece brings a fresh take, purveying a rousing, weighty sonic disposition, that will compel fans of cascading guitars and soaring choruses.
Speaking on their upcoming rookie collection, guitarist Bryan Goss shares, “This EP is, at its core, an honest representation of our lived experiences. Through this release we aim to connect with a diverse audience that finds solace in the expression of these experiences as well as to create a space that feels safe and inclusive for those who may feel underrepresented in heavy music.”
Formed in early 2023 in New York, metalcore crew Ghosts of Hope were united by a mutual love of the early 2000s heavy scene; the driving guitars and huge choruses of the likes of Evanescence, The Plot in You and Underoath can be heard in the young quartet’s output. But Ghosts of Hope look to imbue their own style onto the tried an tested sound, with progressive, atmospheric metalcore both nostalgic and unerringly contemporary.
