Telling Secrets has unveiled new single “Glorybound.” The gripping thrill ride, balances searing post-hardcore with uplifting alternative rock; a story of culture, diversity and finding where—and what—“home” really means.
Telling Secrets is quickly becoming synonymous with atmospheric, mesmerizing heavy, and the latest track is no different. Splicing lyrics in frontman Vik Kovacs’ native Hungarian into the soaring vocal delivery, the track offers a fitting conduit between a thunderous sonic outlay and relatable, heart-on-sleeve storytelling.
The tale itself is one of Kovacs and co’s most personal to date, unpacking his immigrant background and the challenges he, and many others continue to face.
Kovacs explains: “I’ve always wanted to somehow display where I come from and what I am. I used “Glorybound” to explain that I was born in Budapest, to a Hungarian family, and grew up in England to be moulded into something slightly unusual with traits from both cultures. I’m not sure I identify with either single one 100%. A little bit of both and a little bit of neither. The current world climate can be very challenging for the mind and the soul of an immigrant, and this song is meant to inspire all of my friends and myself across the world on all their journeys.”
