Antipope, Finland’s icons of melodic and progressive metal, returns on October 28 with its highly anticipated sixth album Rex Mundi—an incredible concept album set in the 1200s based on the Albigensian Crusade/Cathar Wars. The second single and music video from the album is “Twilight of the Grey Gods.”
On Rex Mundi, the band delivers 11 bold tracks of progressive, melodic, and deeply conceptual metal unrestricted by the confines of any singular genre. Predominantly melodic singing is punctuated with harsh extreme metal vocals and clean vocal passages, backed by melodic yet heavy guitar rhythms that breathe with acoustic segments, all interspersed amongst monster metal riffs.
