Global rock sensation BAND-MAID, whose latest album Epic Narratives has topped charts worldwide and whose single ‘Zen’ continues to be a hit, has been announced as the artist for the opening theme of the upcoming TV anime Rock Is a Lady’s Virtue, set to premiere this April. The opening theme song, ‘Ready to Rock,’ has been featured in the anime’s newly released promotional video on YouTube.
Additionally, it has been revealed that BAND-MAID members Miku Kobato (Vo/Gt), KANAMI (Gt), and AKANE (Dr) will make a special appearance at the anime’s advance screening event on March 16 at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo.
Based on Hiroshi Fukuda’s popular manga series serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal, Rock Is a Lady’s Virtue follows Ririsa Suzunomiya, a former rock-loving girl turned refined young lady at a prestigious all-girls academy. When she meets the extraordinarily talented drummer Otoha Kurogane, Ririsa reignites her passion for rock and forms a band. This youth-driven rock story is about self- discovery, honesty, and pushing boundaries through music.
The anime is scheduled to premiere on April 3rd at 11:56 PM (JST) on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System Television) and its affiliated networks nationwide.
