It was a night of metal at the House of Blues Anaheim on Thursday, October 10.

Ohio’s death metallers Sanguisugabogg opened the show with a blistering set. They got the crowd ready for past tour mates Kublai Khan TX.

The last time the metalcore/groove metallers Kublai Khan TX were at this venue back in March on their headliner tour, they sold it out. They opened for Slaughter to Prevail about a month later at the Hollywood Palladium, proving they aren’t on any ego trips in the band. It was wild to see them second on the four band lineup at the same venue they sold out earlier this year.

By the time Whitechapel, the deathcore band out of Knoxville, Tennessee, hit the stage the packed house was rabid. The set list included their new single “A Visceral Retch” that was released last month while the fans wait for the next full-length the band started working on last year. The crowd response was fit for a headliner, as it was for every band of the night. The lineup was packed with heavy hitters that each could have carried the night on their own.

The build up all night for Lorna Shore was intense. Although Will Ramos has only officially been the vocalist since 2021, it was clear he is now Lorna Shore to the fans. While the band has no original members, Lorna Shore is arguably at its best now with 2021’s “To the Hellfire” being their most commercially successful single to date. The black metal influenced deathcore band delivered a powerful 75 minute set proving they were the headliners of this stacked lineup of headliner worthy bands.
