British punk/sludge metal act Hex Poseur‘s new live EP. The Sheriff Sessions is an evocative and unabashedly honest collection, featuring five gritty and candid tracks.
The release comes as the follow up to 2023 full-length, Stunning, which is out now, on Manic Kat Records.
Unpacking the new release, Hex Poseur shares: “Inspired by Josh Homme’s Desert Sessions, my new live EP The Sheriff Sessions is intended to capture the energy and emotion of every live performance. It is a collection of reworks, covers and songs which didn’t fit anywhere else which were recorded all in one room, giving it the most naturalistic feel.”
Hex continues: “It encapsulates my musical journey over my career so far, being a blend of my traditional punk roots and the sludgy, stoner metal sound of my more recent work. This is EP contains tracks which a lot of fans have requested, and with artwork by Frank from hardcore punk friends’ Sex Germs, this is truly a love letter to the underground UK punk scene, blending both old school and new school styles.”
